Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2, 2026

1. Agreement to terms

By accessing or using Emailens ("the Service"), operated at emailens.dev, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service, including the web application, REST API, MCP server, GitHub Action, and CLI tool.

2. Description of service

Emailens is an email QA platform that previews how HTML emails render across email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo, and others). The Service transforms CSS per client, scores compatibility, simulates dark mode, captures screenshots, and provides actionable fix suggestions.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

3. Accounts

You may use limited features of the Service without an account. To access saved previews, API keys, and higher usage limits, you must create an account by signing in with Google or GitHub.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and any API keys generated under it.
  • You must not share your account credentials or API keys with unauthorized parties.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Plans and pricing

Emailens offers the following plans:

  • Free — 30 previews per day, all 12 email clients, no API access.
  • Dev ($9/month) — 100 previews per day, full API access, 1 API key, share links and visual diff.
  • Pro ($19/month) — unlimited previews, CI/CD integration, 10 API keys, team workflows, AI-powered fixes.

Paid plans are billed monthly through Polar.sh. You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price changes affect their plan.

5. API access

API access is available on paid plans. When using the Emailens API, you agree to:

  • Respect the rate limits for your plan (documented in our API docs).
  • Keep your API keys confidential and rotate them if compromised.
  • Not resell, redistribute, or white-label API access without written permission.
  • Not use the API in ways that could degrade the Service for other users.

We may revoke API keys or restrict access if we detect abuse, excessive usage beyond plan limits, or violations of these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or related systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use automated tools (scrapers, bots) to access the Service beyond the provided API, unless expressly permitted.
  • Circumvent usage limits, rate limiting, or other technical restrictions.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service (excluding open-source components distributed under their respective licenses).
  • Use the Service to preview, optimize, or facilitate the distribution of unsolicited bulk email or spam campaigns.

7. Intellectual property

Your content — you retain all rights to the email source code and content you submit to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, transform, and store your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Our service — the Emailens web application, brand, documentation, and proprietary features are owned by Emailens. The open-source packages (@emailens/engine, @emailens/mcp, @emailens/cli) are distributed under their respective open-source licenses.

Feedback — if you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • Email previews will be 100% accurate representations of how emails render in actual email clients. Previews are simulations based on known CSS rules and rendering behaviors.
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
  • Compatibility scores or fix suggestions will resolve all rendering issues in production.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EMAILENS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Emailens, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account by contacting us at [email protected].

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms, without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limitations, and indemnification) will survive.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of the Netherlands.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the revised Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
