What each check reads
- MX
- Looks up the domain's MX records. Without one, the domain can't receive mail, and inboxes distrust a sender nobody can reply to.
- SPF
- Finds the v=spf1 record and reads how it ends: -all passes, ~all is a soft fail worth tightening, +all lets any server send as you.
- DKIM
- Probes common selectors (google, selector1, selector2, k1, mandrill and more) for a published key. A custom selector it didn't probe shows as a warning, not a failure.
- DMARC
- Reads the policy at _dmarc: p=reject or p=quarantine passes, p=none is monitoring only, and no record fails.
- BIMI
- Looks for a BIMI record at default._bimi. It's optional, so a missing one is noted, not failed.
